The Beauty of Copper Jewellery

Copper has a warmth and character that I’ve always been drawn to. It’s a metal with history, depth, and a life of its own — soft enough to shape by hand, yet strong enough to wear every day. Its colour shifts gently over time, developing a patina that reflects its journey with you. That evolving nature is part of what makes copper so special.

A Warm, Earthy Aesthetic
Copper’s rich reddish‑brown tones bring a natural warmth to any piece of jewellery. Polished, it glows with a bright, almost rosy shine. Left to age, it deepens into a soft, earthy patina. Each finish has its own charm, and no two pieces ever age in quite the same way.
This individuality is one of the reasons I love working with copper — it feels alive, responsive, and full of quiet character.
My Approach to Copper
My jewellery tends to lean toward simple, relaxed forms — pieces that are easy to wear and feel part of your everyday rhythm. Copper shines in this kind of simplicity. It pairs beautifully with silver and brass, adding warmth and contrast without overpowering the design.
I often use patina to bring out texture and depth, especially on hammered surfaces. When I add stones, I choose them intuitively — colours and textures that sit comfortably against copper’s warmth and feel balanced within the design.
Durable, Wearable, Timeless
Copper is a surprisingly durable metal. With a little care, it can last for many years. It’s a material that welcomes being worn — it softens, deepens, and becomes more personal over time.
Caring for Copper
Like all metals, copper can tarnish when exposed to moisture and air. A quick polish now and then will brighten it again, or you can let it develop its natural patina if you prefer a more aged look. Storing your jewellery in a dry, airtight container helps slow oxidation. You can find more details in my care guide.
A Metal with Heart
Copper has long been appreciated for its warmth, versatility, and quiet beauty. It’s an accessible metal, but that doesn’t diminish its charm. If anything, it makes copper feel honest and grounded — a material that brings depth and individuality to any outfit.
For me, copper isn’t just a metal I work with. It’s a companion in the creative process, shaping itself into pieces that feel lived‑in, expressive, and timeless.
