BEHIND THE STUDIO
Every piece begins as a sketch and a sheet of metal, shaped by hand in my Edinburgh studio. This page takes you behind the studio doors to show how your handmade jewellery is crafted – from raw materials to the moment it arrives at your home. It’s a slow, careful process that gives handmade work its warmth and character.

At the Bench
When I start a new piece, everything begins at the bench. It’s a small, well‑used space with saws, files, pliers and hammers all within reach.
When an order comes in, I gather the materials – sheet brass, copper, lengths of wire and any stones or beads I’ll need. I choose each one for its character and small variations. This is where the design starts to take shape.
Making by Hand
When I start shaping a piece, each component is made by hand. I cut the outlines with a jeweller’s saw, use hammers to add texture and a blowtorch to anneal or join the metal parts. Then I move through files and sandpaper in different grades to smooth and refine the edges until the form feels right.
No two pieces ever turn out exactly the same – those small variations in metal and finish are part of what makes handcrafted jewellery special. It’s a slow, careful process. Never mass‑produced, with every mark showing the work that went into it.

Finishing and Assembly
Once the main form is made, I move on to refining. I file and sand to smooth away the marks of making, then polish to bring out the metal’s warmth and texture. If a stone or bead is part of the design, I set it carefully so it feels balanced and secure.
Chains are measured, ear wires shaped, and every connection checked for strength and comfort – whether it’s a pair of handmade earrings or a pendant. It’s a quiet stage of care and precision – where the piece starts to feel complete and ready to be worn.
Thoughtful Packaging
When each piece is finished, I give it a final polish and place it in a Kraft jewellery box with a protective anti‑tarnish insert. I use eco‑friendly packaging with soft tissue, recyclable boxes and paper padding. And include a small card with care tips and a cleaning cloth.
I want the unboxing to feel as special as the jewellery itself. Every order is checked, packed carefully and tracked before it begins its journey to you.

From My Hands to Yours
Every piece that leaves the studio carries a little of its making – the cutting, shaping and final polish. Buying handmade jewellery is about more than the finished piece; it’s about the care and intention behind every step.
I hope this glimpse behind the studio shows how each design is crafted and the thought that goes into every piece I make.
Thank you for stepping into the studio with me.
You can explore the finished collection – each piece carries a little of the story you’ve just read.
